This side intake thing needs to be in carbon fiber; it just looks odd painted.

Perhaps it can be carbon fiber, but its color scheme ought to function as an accent color.

They're actually carbon fiber underneath the paint, and Porsche is more than happy not to paint them for you so you can get the look you want. It'll be a $2,000 option.

Carbon fiber should only be used for structural stiffness or decreasing weight, Never cosmetic so no this should not be carbon fiber. I imagine the weight savings if any would be negligible if any and obviously would offer no structural benefit. I hate when carbon fiber pieces are tacked on for no reason other than cosmetic.
